Use of Earth Observation (EO) and new technologies (e.g. GIS, land biosphere models, GPS/GNSS, automated ground monitoring networks, precision agriculture) with emphasis in:
- The study of our physical and agricultural environment and the monitoring of their spatiotemporal changes using new technologies
- The study and management of natural hazards to the environment and agriculture (with emphasis so far in floods, wildfires & frost in agriculture)
- Management of soil & water resources, retrieval of vegetation parameters and of parameters characterising the hydrological cycle.
- Development open source software tools and of operational tools and products in agriculture and the environment in general,
