Department of Soil Water Resources
The main task of “Soil and Water Resources Department” is to conduct research on soil and water aimed at maintaining and improving their quality so that they can perform their functions, particularly those related to sustainable agricultural production and the quality of the environment. At the same time as the Institution belongs to the Ministry of Agriculture, it provides services in the agricultural sector addressed services and agencies or directly to farmers.
Department of Crop Production
The Plant Production Dpts’ main role is to design, organize and conduct the breeding and agronomy national research in legumes and industrial crops. One of the main activities is applied breeding research programs for the development of new varieties in industrial, fodder crops and pulses.
Department of Plant Protection Volos
Research to subjects concerning the protection of plants from biological agents which reduce the production and the quality of agricultural products. It includes the study of pests, diseases and weeds in crops and the facing them. Finding innovations to increase production and improve the quality of agricultural products.
Cotton Quality Control Center, Classification & Standardization
The Center is responsible for the implementation of cotton Standardization and Classification – in the country with modern methods and international standards, arbitration in the fields that the Centre is accredited, building a database for the quality of Greek cotton etc.
