The Project
This proposal research project sets out to Identify the torrent and environmental research erosion of Tavropos Lake feeder bowl ( Plastiras ) to protect from degradation.
The objectives of this research are:
- The determination of the catchment of the lake torrential currents Plastiras
- Determining the torrential types of torrential currents of Lake Plastiras
- Exploring the water balance of the lake feeder bowl Plastiras
- The investigation of the rain relationship - runoff - erosion of the watersheds of Lake Plastiras
- The investigation of the degradation of the lake
- The proposal of the lake protection measures Plastiras degradation.
Apart from these immediate goals future research will aim to develop mathematical models to determine the relationship rainfall - runoff - sediment and forecast the expected maximum of water supply and sediment various return periods.
This research project will be the first substantial effort in the Greek for the determination of these relations , which would allow more accurate identification of necessary work and in their dimensions to eliminate the floods and the exploitation of surpluses of water supply
